MY FIRST PUBLIC EVENT

PUH-leeze come to my first public reading at To Be Continued Book Boutique and Cafe, 431 Main Street in Metuchen. It's ten days from now, on Friday, Oct. 5, from 7-9pm. There will be music performed by this amazing young jazz singer... But I have to show the retailer that people will show up for this. I'm buying drinks afterward. There are lots of nice places to eat and drink right around there, all on Main St. 



Meanwhile, to quote Donna from Sparta Books, "The book is selling!!"


Two weeks after Metuchen, the second reading is at Well Read Books in Hawthorne. Fri., Oct. 19, 6:30-8pm. More about that later.



If you haven't purchased the book yet, and you plan on coming to one of the readings, please buy it there. That way the store wins, I still get something, and everybody's happy.

Today, I called Sergio at To Be Continued Books Boutique on Main St. in Metuchen. He said, "We were just talking about you," and he handed the phone to a lady who was in the process of buying Heartless Cruelty and who promised to come to the reading on October 5. I mean, that was cool.

Event at TO BE CONTINUED BOOKS

I'm psyched! I just booked another reading, and this one is exactly a month away. It's scheduled for Friday night, October 5, 7-9pm at

TO BE CONTINUED BOOKSTORE BOUTIQUE

at 431 Main Street in Metuchen. 

What a cool, creative store this is, and Karen and Sergio, the owners, are great. In addition to books they offer classic vinyl, robust wireless, interesting nooks and crannies where people just hang out and read and listen to music, and you can order fancy pastries which are delivered by waiters from the shop across the street on fine china. TBCBB seems to function as a real community hub, which, in my humble opinion, is exactly what an independent bookstore can and ought to do. They will be carrying inventory of HEARTLESS CRUELTY starting next week.
